Beowulf Poster Design Contest
This poster was designed for a graphic design competition which was held by the DC Creative Guild in 2014. We were briefed to make a poster for an adapted re-telling of the story of Beowulf by Charlie Bethel. We were only allowed to use two colors to create our posters.
I chose to be ambitious and limit myself to one instead - I also chose to go with a simplistic and more iconographic approach with the project.
Depicted is an orouboros with a celtic warrior in the center. On the shield is the celtic runestone for "Human", a basic concept but very relevant to the story.
I also decided to create my own font for the title as I was not impressed with the available celtic - influenced fonts. The font was made to look as if it were carved - I decided to include wear and tear to give it an aged and weather look, much like the design itself.
